So what are Kite Clinics about?
Have you nailed jumping and are looking into learning your first front and backloops? How about tweaking them with a board grab? Maybe the old- school moves are boring you and you are looking at unhooking and handle pass variations? Or unhooking feels a million miles away but some big air and board-offs look like something you would like to learn?
Professional Coaching and Clinics are tailored around your requirements based on your level of kitesurfing and your realistic goals.
What can I expect?
You will receive coaching before, during and after your session on the water so that you can progress and finally nail that new move you always wanted to do.
Why Professional Coaching and Clinics?
A Professional Coach, is experienced and will assess your level properly. He or she will see which building blocks are required before working towards your goal, for example, there is no point in trying a backloop before first mastering load and pop.
Using the latest video and radio technology, we will not only teach you how to do the move but how to do it logically, quickly and painlessly!
How does it work?
Any professional athlete will tell you that high speed video and photography plays a key element in progressing to the next level. We use special camera equipment that records your moves at up to 1000 frames per second. At the end of every session we sit down over a few cool beers and analyse the footage, allowing you to see exactly where you need to improve to nail the trick the next day.
All photos and videos are yours to take home and show your friends and family!
The Clinic Program
The clinics are run in small groups of max. 4 participants and we usually split them into smaller groups if the skill levels are vastly apart. We use video analysis and radio communication throughout the whole week which allows us to focus on every participant and his/her particular needs.
Day 1 – Training day: On your first day on the water we want you to get your mojo back and just freeride as much as you can. During that day we will be filming you and assessing your current skill level. In the evening we have a chilled beer and while watching the days footage, discuss your personal goals for the week. We will also introduce you to our video analysis based on the tricks we filmed that day.
Day 2 – Coaching day: Before we hit the water, we will be looking at your equipment, spot possible trimming and tuning errors and generally help you understand your equipment better in order to get the maximum pop and jumping power from it. Then we hit the water and using a waterproof radio that you will wear either under a vest or a rashie, we will be focusing on building blocks to the moves that you wish to learn. The whole day will be filmed for video analysis.
Day 3 – Training day: Before we hit the water, we will quickly go through the video footage from the previous day and point out what you need to focus on during the upcoming session. Then on the water, we will be riding with you and more often than not, also help you with tips and tricks to enable a rapid progression.
Day 4 – Coaching day: Using radios and filming you during the day, we will be working on adding and expanding your trick repertoire, focusing on your personal goals.
Day 5 – Training day: Before we hit the water, we will quickly go through the video footage from the previous day and point out what you need to focus on during the upcoming session. Then on the water, we will be riding with you and more often than not, also help you with tips and tricks to enable a rapid progression.
Day 6 – Coaching day: Using radios and filming you during the day, we will be working on cracking those tricks you wanted to land this week and add more on top, if your strength allows for it. There is no limit to the teaching hours, so it all comes down to your personal preference. In the evening we will be finishing the week with a final viewing of the best moments and a team BBQ. All footage will be available for you to take home and we will also be uploading it to our cloud storage so you can download it once you are home.
